Marconi Building
The 12" x 14' structure was originally located on Fire Island Avenue in Babylon. Rocky Point's RCA Radio Central received this historic building as a gift from Major Edwin Armstrong. The building is currently located on "Marconi Blvd" (Yaphank-Rocky Point Road) in front of the Frank J. Carasiti School in Rocky Point.
The pictures below depict a recent restoration performed on the original building with an intent on bringing it back to its original condition. The restoration is only about halfway complete and the Historical Society is in the process of actively seeking grants to continue to fund this endeavor.
